Factory Evacuation

"Leningrad, October 4th, 1941

Zdanov and Kuznetsov here.

Hello. Stalin here.

Hello, comrade Stalin.

Stalin: I am sending the proposal from Moscow.
  1. Evacuate dies, presses, electrical equipment, casting equipment, tools, devices, stamps, and engineers, technologists and skilled workers from factory #174 for T-50 production from Leningrad, eastward.
  2. Evacuate dies, presses, electrical equipment, casting, forging, and rolling equipment, tools, devices, stamps, and engineers, technologists and skilled workers from Kirov and Izhor factories for tank and gun production from Leningrad, eastward. Leave 50 tank guns for Leningrad.
  3. Evacuate equipment and staff of all factories in Leningrad that was used for production of KV and T-50 tanks in cooperation with Kirov, Izhor, and #174 factories.
  4. Evacuate the above through Ladoga lake to Volkhovstroy. Leningrad citizens should perform the evacuation.
  5. Rename the Chelyabinsk tractor factory to Kirov factory and Uralmash to Izhor factory. Please agree.
Additionally, we ask to appoint a few good Party organizers for tank and armour factories, 4 or 5 people.

Zhdanov, Kuznetsov: We agree with your proposal. In one day, we will provide you with a plan to evacuate Kirov, Izhor, and #174 factories, as well as cooperating factories. All preparatory measures will begin immediately. We will pick out good Party organizers for tank and armour factories.

Stalin: Very good. Goodbye. I shake your hand. That is all.

Zhdanov, Kuznetsov: Good bye, we shake your hand."
