Preliminary Inspection

Here is a report of a new German vehicle captured by Soviet forces in the later half of January 1943. Can you guess what it is?

"The captured tank near Workers' Village #5 has the following tactical-technical characteristics:

    5. Rear: 80 mm
    6. Driver's viewport: 190 mm
  4. Armament:
    1. 1 88 mm gun
    2. 2 7.6 mm machineguns
  5. Ammunition:
    1. 86 88 mm shells
  6. Amount of fuel tanks: 4
  7. Amount of oil tanks: 1
  8. Engine: Maybach, engine power unknown at up to 4000 RPM
  9. Track length in contact with ground: 4.5 meters
  10. Track width: 0.73 m
  11. Crew: 5
  12. Sights and periscopes: 3
The vehicle is controlled with an oil-hydraulic system. The gearbox is oil-hydraulic, 8 speed, positioned in the front of the vehicle."

This is a clearly preliminary report, as the information is, well, rather off, but there can be no question about it, this vehicle is one of the first Tiger tanks captured by the Red Army.
