Brief and specific description of heroism or achievements: Guards Lieutenant Kuzmin Y.Y., commander of a captured Panther tank, managed to cohesively train his crew for the completion of combat objectives. On January 25th, 1945, up to 14 enemy tanks and 400 infantrymen attacked elements of the 217th and 230th Guards Infantry Regiments. Waiting for a good moment when the German tanks were close by, his tank opened fire. As a result of a short battle, an enemy Panther tank burned up. Up to 15 fascists and the enemy tank crew were destroyed with the machinegun. For bravery and courage, I recommend that comrade Kuzmich be rewarded with an Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class."
