  1. In terms of Soviet-style tankers training- I have interesting Polish book "we drivers of tanks". That's partially T-34 manual and partially war stories. According this book, driver training include usage a scale model of tank on proving ground makette. According book, during training driver stay on fake tank driver station and instructor powering tank scale model by it's hand (tank scale model don't have engine and steering mechanism). IIRC, in one documentary movie I saw similar trainign method, but tank scale model use it's own electric engine as power source and it's steering mechanism for turns (not intructor hand). Of course, in both situation we don't have camera in tank model and screen front of driver head.
