I wonder how many M4A2s survived compared to T-34s :D
ReplyDeleteProbably a lot. Shermans tended to suffer few crew casualties when knocked out because of limited spalling and fairly good hatches making this easier to bail out. An amazing number were repaired and sent back into action in western Europe.
DeleteInteresting data- according document Soviets got smaller number of M4A2 Sherman tanks, than according data from Zaloga book (Soviets received 3664 M4A2 Shermans according book).
ReplyDeleteMaybe Zaloga refers to shipped and Soviet authorities to received, as a few were sank in ships.
DeleteThis is just to January 1945, supplies continued after that.
